Inauguration Ceremony Held for Brigadier General Ho Hwang as 24th Commander of Jinhae Naval Base

"Perfect Base Defense," "Cultivating a Vibrant Barracks Culture"

The Jinhae Naval Base Command held the inauguration ceremony for its 24th commander at 3:00 p.m. on January 14 in the main auditorium of the Chungmu Welfare Center within the base.

Presided over by Admiral Kang Donggil, Chief of Naval Operations, the ceremony was attended by more than 700 people, including key commanders from the Jinhae region, invited guests, service members, and civilian personnel.


In his inaugural address, Brigadier General Ho Hwang, Commander of Jinhae Naval Base, stated, "Jinhae Naval Port is a proud product of the Republic of Korea's maritime security and the cradle of our Navy," adding, "I will do my utmost to ensure that the Navy's unwavering commitment to becoming a winning force for the people is upheld at our home port as well."


He also emphasized, "When Jinhae Naval Port stands strong, our Navy's great voyage will continue without wavering," and, under the slogan of 'World-Class Naval Port,' presented his command policies: perfect base defense, creative operational support, and the cultivation of a vibrant barracks culture.


Brigadier General Hwang, a graduate of the 52nd class of the Korea Naval Academy in 1998, is an expert in maritime operations and defense policy, having served in key positions both at sea and on land, including commanding officer of the Yulgok Yi I, Director of Command and Control at Navy Headquarters, Defense Policy Manager at the National Security Office, and Chief Secretary at Navy Headquarters.
