Strengthening Collaboration with Financial Institutions
and Financial Support for Small Business Owners
On January 14, Gwangju Metropolitan City appointed Soo In Lee, Director of the Financial Supervisory Service, as the Financial Policy Cooperation Officer.
The Financial Policy Cooperation Officer is responsible for advising on the city’s interest rate and fund management, as well as overall financial policy, and coordinating collaborative projects with financial institutions.

Officer Lee began his career at the Financial Supervisory Service in 2003 and has built experience in the electronic and digital finance sectors, serving as Head of the Electronic Financial Supervision Team and Head of the Digital Finance General Team. Gwangju City expects that his expertise in digital finance will enhance the effectiveness of local financial policies.
For one year, Officer Lee will provide advice on interest rate and fund management, oversee collaborative projects with financial institutions, handle special guarantees for small business owners, and address a wide range of local financial issues, serving as a communication channel between Gwangju City and the Financial Supervisory Service.
Youngmoon Kim, Vice Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju City, stated, "With the addition of a financial expert, Gwangju City will be able to design financial policies from a more mid- to long-term perspective," adding, "We hope these efforts will lead to policies that provide real support to local small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises."
