Yangju City will continue to promote the "Rust-Free Home Water Pipe Improvement Project" in 2026 to provide citizens with clean and safe tap water. Provided by Yangju City
This project aims to prevent rust water by replacing old indoor water supply pipes and to provide a pleasant environment for household water use. It targets houses of 130 square meters or less that are over 20 years old since completion. Through this project, citizens can reduce inconveniences caused by rust water and have access to more stable tap water.
The amount of support varies depending on the size of the house: 90% of the total construction cost is covered for homes of 60 square meters or less, 80% for homes of 85 square meters or less, and 70% for homes of 130 square meters or less. Recipients of basic livelihood security and those in the lower-income bracket can receive full coverage of construction costs within the maximum support amount.
The maximum support amount is 600,000 won for communal pipes and 1,800,000 won for indoor water supply pipes. In the case of apartment complexes, support is provided separately for communal pipes and indoor water supply pipes. However, the project may end early if the budget is exhausted.
Applications can be submitted to the Waterworks Project Team at the Waterworks Division of Yangju City. After receiving the application, an official will visit the site to conduct a water quality test and check eligibility, and the results will be individually notified. Inquiries can be made before applying to receive information about the project, and during the site visit, details such as the construction scope and support amount can be confirmed.
A Yangju City official stated, "We hope that citizens experiencing inconvenience due to rust water from old water pipes will be able to use cleaner and more stable tap water through this project," and added, "We ask for the continued interest and participation of many citizens this year as well."
