Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Yang Jinseon) on January 14th held the seventh event of the "2026 Communication Festival with County Residents," visiting Danwol-myeon, a region renowned for its premium Gorosoe, to open a forum for communication with local residents.

The event, held on the morning of the same day on the third floor of the Danwol-myeon Multi-purpose Welfare Center, was attended by Yang Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, Lee Yunsil, Head of Danwol-myeon, provincial and county councilors, heads of local institutions and organizations, and more than 100 residents of Danwol-myeon.

The first part of the event featured a presentation of Danwol-myeon's major achievements from the previous year, including the establishment of the Danwol-myeon Basic Living Base Project, the creation of scenic walking trails, and the hosting of the 26th Yangpyeong Danwol Gorosoe Festival, which were shared with the residents.

Next, as future plans for the advancement of Danwol-myeon in 2026, the county presented the construction of a new Danwol Complex Cultural Center, the Eastern Region Fulfillment Project and Regional Balanced Development Project, and the activation of the Yongmun-Hongcheon metropolitan railway and rural hub, explaining proactive policies to attract population inflow and outlining mid- to long-term development directions.

During the subsequent discussion session with county residents, a variety of opinions closely related to residents' daily lives were raised, such as road construction and maintenance, installation of pedestrian walkways, expansion of the Deoksuri Reservoir capacity, a request for the establishment of Danwol Station on the Yongmun-Hongcheon metropolitan railway, and measures to prevent traffic accidents involving the elderly. Heads of relevant departments and division chiefs provided immediate, on-site responses, ensuring prompt two-way communication.

Governor Yang Jinseon stated, "The voices of the residents I hear here in Danwol-myeon today serve as an important standard for determining the direction of county administration," adding, "We will fully incorporate your opinions to address the remaining issues in Danwol-myeon together and continue to achieve ongoing development."
