Indoor Exhibition Where Floral Technology Meets Art
Global Floral Artist Exhibition and Smart Floral Displays
The 18th edition of the international flower expo, the "2026 Goyang International Flower Expo," has taken shape with 100 days remaining until its opening. This year's expo, themed "Flowers, Coloring Time," will be held for 17 days from April 24 to May 10 at Ilsan Lake Park.
The "2026 Goyang International Flower Expo" is being organized with the goal of promoting flower consumption and introducing K-Flower to the world as an international flower exhibition. The entire 250,000-square-meter venue will be structured to organically connect industrial exhibitions with outdoor gardens, creating a three-dimensional space where exhibitions, industry, and culture blend seamlessly within flowers and gardens, forming one vast exhibition hall.
This Year's Highlight: "The Time Traveler's Garden"
The biggest change at the 2026 Goyang International Flower Expo is that flowers are no longer presented merely as beautiful subjects, but as experiences to be felt and remembered. The expo will attempt a "time-traveling" format, allowing visitors to journey through the past, present, and future with flowers as the medium.
At the heart of this is the large-scale flower design garden, "Time Traveler's Garden (Time Flow Garden)." The garden will feature a 10-meter-tall landmark flower sculpture designed to function as an actual clock, serving as both the starting point symbolizing the expo’s universe and the gateway to other spaces. The garden will also be staged as a scene-based content area that transforms its atmosphere with the passage of time, expressing the theme of "time" not just as a symbol, but as a function and experience.
Starting from this space, visitors will walk through gardens that evoke memories of the past, confront themselves in the present, and envision a hopeful future, encountering their own time and emotions through flowers.
From "Gardens to See" to "Gardens to Stay In": Outdoor Exhibitions
The outdoor area will be transformed from a space for simply viewing gardens while moving through them, into a space for staying and participating, thereby deepening immersion in the theme.
Each garden will offer a unique story and emotion: "K-Culture Fusion Future Garden (Time Traveler’s Garden)," which reinterprets traditional Korean aesthetics through a retro-futurism concept; "Obang Flower Garden," which presents Korea’s unique colors in a new way; "Garden of Emotional Temperature," where visitors can record their feelings through flowers and colors; and "Flower Therapy Garden," which embodies the healing effects of plants.
Additionally, the "Time Flow Garden," themed on the passage of time and the changing seasons, will harmonize with the natural and green landscape of Ilsan Lake Park, artistically showcasing flowers at their most beautiful moments.
Indoor Exhibition: A Global Floral Platform Where Technology Meets Art
The indoor exhibition will showcase both the present and future of the floral industry. The Flower Exchange Hall will host floral organizations, distribution agencies, and associations from 25 countries, strengthening the foundation for international exchange.
The "Global Floral Artist Exhibition," the core content of the indoor exhibition, will facilitate the exchange of floral art and technology among domestic and international floral artists. The exhibition will also introduce rare overseas plants and newly developed domestic varieties in its new and unique plant displays.
In the Floral Industry Hall, over 200 organizations-including producers, distributors, and technology companies-will participate to enhance industry networking. By presenting smart floral exhibitions that integrate ICT, AI, and eco-friendly technologies, the expo will suggest directions for the future of the floral industry and connect these to business outcomes through B2B programs, consultations, and industry exchange forums.
"Together as One": An Expo Created by Citizens and Local Farmers
The "2026 Goyang International Flower Expo" values partnership with the local community. Themed gardens such as succulent, gymnocalycium, cactus, and bonsai gardens will be created with outstanding flowers produced directly by Goyang's local farmers. The collaborative garden "Goyang Planet Garden," created by local governments and civic groups, and especially the citizen gardener and school garden programs, will make local residents the protagonists, completing a participatory expo.
Furthermore, collaboration with local volunteers, related organizations, and art groups will strengthen the region-led cultural ecosystem and naturally expand the inclusive value of the expo’s "together" theme.
An Expo Embracing Change and Challenge
The Goyang International Flower Expo continues to pursue new changes and challenges each year. Through these efforts, it has consecutively received the highest international certification grade from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, earning recognition as Korea’s leading international flower expo. It has also received simultaneous approval from the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) for both International Horticultural Exhibitions and International Horticultural Trade Fairs, officially acknowledging that its exhibition structure, content, industry exchange, and overall operations meet global standards.
The 2026 Goyang International Flower Expo aims to go beyond simply displaying flowers, offering greater depth in exhibitions and content to greet visitors in a more evolved form. By allowing people to reflect on their own time and leave behind precious memories through flowers, the expo is preparing to present the newest spring, filled with stories of time and people.
