To this end, the city has established a promotion planning team led by Jeong Gwangrak, Director of Urban Development, consisting of 30 officials specializing in construction-related facilities, organized into six teams.

Gyeongju City to Promote Early Issuance of 2026 Construction Projects... Aiming for 70% in the First Half Gyeongju City has formed a promotion planning team this year to expedite the early issuance of construction projects and is taking a commemorative photo to pledge the achievement of the issuance target for the first half of the year.

Since December of last year, the promotion planning team has been directly inspecting project sites and gathering residents' opinions. To advance the issuance schedule, the team is conducting major administrative procedures-such as environmental impact assessments, preliminary disaster impact reviews, and national heritage alteration reviews-in parallel with detailed design services.

Through this advance preparation, the city aims to both expedite project issuance and enhance the completeness of project implementation.

The projects targeted for early issuance include a total of 1,283 cases-such as roads, flood control, agricultural infrastructure, and resident-requested projects-with a total project budget of 227.3 billion won.

The city plans to focus on projects closely related to citizens' daily lives, thereby maximizing improvements to living conditions.

For resident-requested projects at the town, township, and neighborhood levels, the city is actively incorporating residents' opinions and on-site conditions from the design stage to enhance both the effectiveness of the projects and resident satisfaction.

In particular, to quickly implement resident-requested projects that citizens can directly experience, the city is operating joint design workshops centered around construction teams in four towns-Gampo, Angang, Geoncheon, and Oedong-with the goal of issuing 100% of these projects in the first half of the year.

Joo Nakyoung, Mayor of Gyeongju, stated, "Early issuance of construction projects will not only revitalize the local construction industry but also lead to the expansion of living infrastructure that citizens can truly feel," adding, "We will continue to enhance citizen convenience through prompt and responsible administration."
