Scheffler and Thitikul Named GWAA Male and Female Players of the Year

Scheffler Wins for Third Consecutive Year Since 2022
Thitikul Triumphs Over Minjee Lee and Miyu Yamashita

Scottie Scheffler of the United States and Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand, both ranked No. 1 in the men's and women's professional golf world rankings, have been named the 2025 Players of the Year by the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA).

On January 13 (local time), the GWAA announced, "Scheffler and Thitikul have been selected as the Male and Female Players of the Year, and the Senior Player of the Year award will go to Stewart Cink of the United States." The winners are determined by votes from GWAA members. The awards ceremony will be held prior to the start of the Masters Tournament in April.

Scheffler claimed six victories on the PGA Tour last year. He also won two major championships: the PGA Championship and The Open. This marks his third consecutive win, following his awards in 2022 and last year.

Thitikul, who captured three wins on the LPGA Tour last year, has received this award for the first time. In the women's category, Thitikul competed for the honor against Minjee Lee of Australia and Miyu Yamashita of Japan.

Cink, who was named Senior Player of the Year, secured three victories on the PGA Tour Champions.
