The most notable achievements have been in the area of safety. Since the beginning of the 8th administration, the district has prioritized resident safety as its highest value and has focused on expanding its infrastructure.

The district expanded and relocated the 'U-Yangcheon Integrated Control Center' to become the largest in Seoul, and installed 5,066 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to protect residents from various crimes and fires. For the first time in Seoul, 24-meter lighting towers were installed at seven major road intersections to prevent traffic accidents, and a resident safety insurance program was implemented, automatically enrolling all residents without any additional procedures.

As a result, Yangcheon District received the 'Commissioner General of the National Police Agency Award' at the 2024 Korea Crime Prevention Awards and the 'Presidential Award' for establishing an integrated defense posture, both for the first time in the district's history. In the field of safety alone, the district won a total of 24 awards, including 'Best' in the evaluation of winter measures and 'Excellent' in the disaster prevention and safety measures assessment.

The district's achievements with policies implemented for the first time since the launch of the 8th administration also stand out. In 2023, Yangcheon District operated the nation's first 'Yangcheon-type Overnight Emergency Childcare Center' for infants and toddlers, which was highly praised for addressing childcare gaps and received the 'Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for Gender Equality Policy.' Starting this year, the district also operates the first 'Yangcheon-type Overnight Emergency Care Center' in Seoul, further strengthening the 24-hour public care system.

The creation of a parking lot on an unused plot in Sinwol 7-dong was recognized as a proactive innovation case and received the Excellence Award in the 'Civil Service Improvement Best Practices' hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

There were also outstanding achievements in the area of finance. For the first time, the district was selected as the top institution in the local finance execution evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and was named the best local government for two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025, in the shared property management analysis and diagnosis evaluation.
