On January 14, Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that it had held a mutual cooperation meeting with the Yeongjong Fire Station to strengthen emergency response capabilities within the airport.
The meeting, held on January 9 in the corporation's conference room, was organized to establish a prompt and systematic response system in the event of emergencies at the airport. Representatives from the Incheon Airport Fire Department and the 119 rescue and emergency team of Yeongjong Fire Station attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation and support, including conducting joint training for aircraft accident response and supporting familiarization training in the airport area for 119 paramedics from Yeongjong Fire Station.
In addition, a ceremony was held to present the 'Heart Saver' certificates to seven paramedics from the Incheon Airport Fire Department. The Heart Saver certificate, awarded by the Incheon Fire Headquarters, is given to individuals who contribute to saving lives by providing swift and accurate CPR and emergency treatment to cardiac arrest patients.
Last year, the Incheon Airport Fire Department responded to a total of 2,427 emergency calls, including 479 cases involving critically ill patients, handling emergencies within the airport. Notably, of the 19 cardiac arrest patients who experienced incidents at the airport, six were able to regain consciousness on site thanks to the rapid emergency treatment provided by the airport fire department.
Lee Hakjae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, stated, "Incheon Airport is the gateway airport of Korea and is equivalent to a small city, with an average of 200,000 passengers per day and 94,000 airport staff. Moving forward, we will strengthen the emergency response capabilities of the airport fire department by introducing advanced emergency equipment and expanding cooperation with related agencies, creating a safe airport environment where passengers and staff can feel secure."
