Gwangju Buk-gu is recruiting the 9th Honorary Reporters, who will vividly deliver various local news and stories of residents through the district newsletter, "Buk Sori."

On January 14, Gwangju Buk-gu announced that it would select about 40 honorary reporters by the 12th of next month to strengthen publicity centered on resident participation.

Since its launch in 2009, the "Buk Sori Honorary Reporters" team has played a key role as a communication messenger for the district, delivering district news from the residents' perspective. Any Buk-gu resident interested in the local community and capable of writing articles and using the internet is eligible to apply.

Applicants must submit an application form along with an article on a topic of their choice via email. The district will review applicants' writing skills and understanding of district affairs and plans to announce the final successful candidates at the end of February.

The selected reporters will be active for two years starting this March, uncovering heartwarming stories and useful information from the community to be published in "Buk Sori." To enhance the capabilities of the reporters, Buk-gu will support editorial meetings, training sessions, and workshops, and will provide a set manuscript fee for selected articles.

Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, stated, "News delivered directly by residents holds a special value that is different from administration-centered publicity," adding, "I hope many passionate residents will participate so that Buk Sori can become a true communication channel connecting residents and the administration."
