Chung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, has drawn attention for his intensive global management activities at the start of the new year, traveling across three countries-China, the United States, and India-over a period of ten days, making every moment count.

According to Hyundai Motor Group on January 14, Chairman Chung visited Beijing, China, on January 4 and 5, coinciding with the President's state visit to China. This was his first visit to China in eight months since attending the Shanghai Motor Show in May of last year.

Immediately after his visit to China, on January 6 and 7, Chairman Chung attended CES 2026, the world’s largest IT and electronics exhibition, held in Las Vegas, United States. After exploring future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, he held meetings with key executives from major big tech companies. Notably, he had a public reunion with Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, three months after their widely discussed meeting last year. Hyundai Motor Group also held its ‘Global Leaders Forum (GLF)’ on-site, where key executives gathered to discuss mid- to long-term strategies and vision.

He then traveled to India, where he personally inspected three Hyundai Motor Group plants across the country. In the Indian market, which has the world’s largest population of 1.4 billion, Hyundai Motor Group aims to solidify its status as a key player by establishing an annual production system of 1.5 million units, implementing a flexible product lineup strategy tailored to the market, and building an electrification ecosystem.

On January 12, Chairman Chung visited the Hyundai Motor Chennai plant in southeastern India. After receiving a business report from Hyundai Motor, he toured the Creta production line and the Hyundai Mobis BSA plant. Chairman Chung emphasized, “Hyundai Motor has been able to grow thanks to the love of the Indian people over the past 30 years,” and added, “We must pursue a home brand strategy that looks ahead to the next 30 years so that we can be reborn as a true Indian national company.”
