Enhancing the Global Status of K-Ramen for Overseas Tourists
Nongshim announced on January 14 that it will open the 'Ramyun Museum,' a Nongshim ramen experience space, in Seogwipo, Jeju.
This Ramyun Museum is designed as a space where domestic and international tourists visiting Jeju can enjoy the taste and culture of Nongshim ramen all in one place. Nongshim expects that, with the recent record-breaking ramen exports and the global popularity of K-content such as K-Pop Demon Hunters, the worldwide craze for K-ramen will attract more overseas tourists seeking ramen even to Jeju, Korea's leading tourist destination.
The Nongshim Ramyun Museum is located on the second floor of the 'Shinhwa Plaza' shopping mall in Jeju, covering an area of about 330 square meters (approximately 100 pyeong). Shinhwa Plaza is a large shopping mall adjacent to Gangjeong Port in Seogwipo, a major gateway for foreign cruise group tourists visiting Jeju. Nongshim provided brand IP (intellectual property) and participated in the space planning for the Ramyun Museum, while the operation will be handled by Shinhwa Plaza.
Inside the Ramyun Museum, there is a Cooking Zone where visitors can select and eat ramen themselves, and a Shopping Zone where they can purchase a variety of Nongshim products and merchandise. In particular, in the Cooking Zone, visitors can cook and enjoy most of Nongshim's major ramen brands, including Shin Ramyun, Ansungtangmyun, Chapagetti, and Neoguri. Ramen can be prepared using the 'Hangang Ramen' instant cooking machine, which is especially popular among foreign tourists, and toppings can be added according to individual preferences. In the future, special ramen menus made with Jeju ingredients will also be introduced.
In addition, Nongshim has prepared a variety of attractions to maximize the Nongshim brand experience beyond just a meal. Throughout the store, unique photo zones featuring large Neoguri characters, as well as Jeju's symbolic Dolhareubang statues, basalt stone walls, and mandarin trees, add a distinctive Jeju atmosphere.
Furthermore, the museum's walls are used to showcase the 40-year history of Shin Ramyun and its global status as a beloved brand in over 100 countries, allowing visitors to see at a glance the competitiveness of Nongshim, the leading K-ramen brand.
A Nongshim representative stated, "The Jeju Ramyun Museum is a space that combines the natural beauty of Jeju with Nongshim's K-ramen content," adding, "We hope it will become a landmark in Jeju that offers delicious experiences to travelers from around the world."
