From Reader to Author... Millie's Library Publishing Contest

"Millie Road Publishing Contest" Announced

KT Millie's Library announced on January 14 that it will be hosting the "Millie Road Publishing Contest," where readers can participate in creation and debut as authors.

From Reader to Author... Millie's Library Publishing Contest KT Millie's Library is hosting the "Millie Road Publishing Contest," where readers can participate in creation and debut as authors.

This contest has been organized to mark the 10th anniversary of Millie's Library and to expand a user-driven reading ecosystem. The aim is to strengthen the experience of "writing-based reading," where readers actively participate as creators, going beyond simply consuming content.

The beginning of the year is also a time when interest in writing increases along with New Year's resolutions. According to Millie's Library, the number of Millie Road works published in January this year increased by about 2.3 times compared to the average in the fourth quarter of last year. Based on this trend, Millie's Library plans to turn readers' creative activities into tangible results and to discover new authors and content IP.

The "Millie Road Publishing Contest" will select outstanding works after gauging reader responses through serialization. Winners will receive support not only for book publication but also for marketing, ensuring that participation in the contest leads to ongoing creative activities rather than being a one-time experience.

The contest will be held quarterly. The first round targets new works that have published at least eight episodes on Millie Road by February 28, and any reader interested in creation can participate. Awards will be given every quarter, and the grand prize-winning work will be selected within the year.

Winners will receive creative grants, as well as support for print book publication and marketing. The awards consist of: ▲ Grand Prize for 5 winners (2 million KRW each) ▲ Excellence Prize for 10 winners (500,000 KRW each) ▲ Encouragement Prize for 25 winners (100,000 KRW each). Grand Prize winners will also have the opportunity for print publication review not only with Millie's Library's publishing brand "Originals," but also with major domestic publishers such as Dasan Books, Sam & Parkers, Ajac, and Giant Books.

Kim Taehyung, Head of New Business at Millie's Library, said, "Based on our achievements in popularizing reading over the past ten years, we have planned this contest to build an ecosystem where readers become the main agents of creation. We will continue to support promising authors so they can establish themselves in the market, and we will strengthen a content supply chain that coexists with the publishing industry."
