Gwanak District in Seoul has set the establishment of a "robust foundational society" as its top priority for district administration this year. The six areas outlined by Mayor Park are: strengthening tailored welfare, realizing a basic society powered by artificial intelligence (AI), creating Gwanak as a healing and garden city, fostering an innovative economic city, establishing a safe and pleasant living environment, and building a vibrant city where young people settle and education and culture thrive.
Mayor Park stated, "This year marks an important point where we must successfully conclude the journey of the 8th popularly elected administration," adding, "We will enhance the quality of our pledged projects and faithfully fulfill our promises to the residents until the very end." He further emphasized, "This year, Gwanak District will prioritize building a 'robust foundational society' that closely cares for the lives of our residents, and we will focus on these six areas to deliver tangible results that all residents can truly experience."
The New Year's greeting event was attended by Mayor Park, members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, heads of related organizations, and more than 2,000 residents. The event began with pop jazz and classical performances, followed by a congratulatory song from the Gwanak District Women's Choir and a video featuring residents' New Year wishes.
Mayor Park remarked, "We will not be complacent with our past achievements, but instead, with the spirit of 'Jumagapyeon'-spurring a running horse-we will drive Gwanak toward a great leap forward," and added, "We will continue to work hard to make Gwanak a place where all 500,000 residents can be happy."
