[Today’s New Product] Lotte Mart Launches Ultra-Value 6,800-Won Pizza and 1,500-Won Hot Dog

After Value-for-Money Chicken, Competition Heats Up for Pizza and Hot Dogs
Lotte Mart Launches 68 Pizza and 15 Hot Dog at All Locations
Available Twice Daily in Limited Quantities

With persistently high inflation, major supermarket chains are intensifying their discount competition by promoting convenient deli foods such as chicken and pizza. On January 14, Lotte Mart announced that it will launch the '68 Pizza' and '15 Hot Dog' at all of its stores starting January 15.

The two products will be sold for 6,800 won and 1,500 won, respectively, and will be available in limited quantities twice a day (at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.). The number of pizzas available will range from 25 to 50 per store, and hot dogs from 60 to 100 per store, with variations depending on the location.

The 68 Pizza comes in two varieties: '68 Bulgogi Pizza' and '68 Pepperoni Pizza.' Both are oval-shaped pizzas measuring 25 cm by 15 cm. The 15 Hot Dog uses sausages containing more than 95% domestically produced pork, and is topped with pickles and onions to enhance its refreshing flavor.

Lotte Mart explained that it restructured its supply chain and manufacturing process to introduce these two products. The pizzas are delivered frozen and only need to be heated at the store before sale. Key ingredients such as cheese, flour, pepperoni, and bulgogi are purchased in bulk to lower the retail price. In addition to in-store sales, Lotte Mart also accepts online orders to maintain optimal production volumes and minimize waste, thereby improving raw material management efficiency.

The 15 Hot Dog is made using only essential ingredients such as bread, sausage, pickles, and onions, ensuring price competitiveness. The sausages, pickles, and onions used as fillings are pre-prepared, allowing for immediate cooking and improved labor efficiency.

Lee Chaehyun, Merchandiser of the Deli Development Team at Lotte Mart Supermarket, stated, "As the burden of dining out and delivery prices increases, customer demand for value-for-money deli products that can be enjoyed in-store continues to grow. We will continue to launch new products and run discount promotions focused on affordable food items to help reduce the cost of groceries for our customers."
