Signs of Data Leakage Detected... Personal Information Compromise Under Investigation
Personal Information Protection Commission: "Action Will Be Taken If Legal Violations Are Found"
The Personal Information Protection Commission announced on the morning of January 13 that it had launched an investigation after receiving reports of personal information leaks from eight companies within Kyowon Group at 9 a.m.
Kyowon Group reported to the Commission that abnormal traffic had occurred, signs of data leakage had been identified, and that it was currently verifying whether personal information had been compromised.
The eight Kyowon Group affiliates where signs of data leakage were detected are: Kyowon, Kyowon Kumon, Kyowon Life, Kyowon Tour, Kyowon Property, Kyowon Healthcare, Kyowon Startone, and Kyowon Wizda.
A representative from the Personal Information Protection Commission stated, "Through the investigation, we will thoroughly verify the exact circumstances of the incident, whether personal information was leaked, and whether any laws were violated. If any violations are found, we will take action in accordance with the relevant laws."
