On January 13, Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province held a working-level meeting for disaster management evaluation in the disaster situation room at City Hall to prepare for the 2026 Disaster Management Evaluation.

This meeting was attended by working-level officials from departments related to disaster safety, aiming to enhance understanding of the overall disaster management evaluation and to review the preparations for each evaluation item.


The meeting focused on discussions regarding the direction for the 2026 Disaster Management Evaluation, explanations of evaluation indicators and detailed items, progress by department, sharing of best practices, and improvement plans for deficiencies. In particular, participants reviewed the progress of various safety projects and the implementation status of indicators aimed at strengthening response capabilities in the event of an actual disaster.


Through this working-level meeting, Yangsan City plans to further strengthen interdepartmental collaboration and systematically enhance the level of management throughout all phases of disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. The city also intends to continuously improve disaster response capabilities through regular review meetings, as well as education and training sessions.


Kim Kyungsook, Director of the Citizen Safety Division, stated, "The disaster management evaluation is an important process for reviewing the progress of our city’s safety initiatives and creating an environment that protects the lives and safety of our citizens. We will do our utmost to ensure swift and systematic responses to disasters through thorough advance preparation and ongoing readiness for the annual evaluation."
