Renault Korea Unveils Flagship Crossover 'Filante' for the First Time Worldwide... Domestic Launch in March

Renault Korea has unveiled its new flagship crossover, the Filante, for the first time in the world.

On January 13, Renault Korea announced the launch of the global flagship crossover Filante, the second model of the Aurora Project, at the Grand Walkerhill in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

The Filante is an E-segment crossover introduced by Renault Korea to target the mid-to-large vehicle market. It features a hybrid E-Tech powertrain, a large body, and expanded connectivity functions. Renault Korea aims to strengthen its brand competitiveness both domestically and globally through the Filante.

The vehicle measures 4,915mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,635mm in height. It is a crossover that combines the characteristics of a sedan and a sports utility vehicle (SUV). The front features an illuminated lozenge logo and grille lighting, while the rear adopts a coupe-style silhouette and a floating rear spoiler design. There are five exterior color options, and the wheels are available in 19- and 20-inch sizes.

The interior is designed with a "Premium Tech Lounge" concept. Based on a 2,820mm wheelbase, it provides 320mm of rear seat knee room and a maximum headroom of 886mm. All trims come standard with eco-friendly Nappa synthetic leather seats. The trunk has a basic capacity of 633 liters, which expands to a maximum of 2,050 liters when the rear seats are folded. Active noise cancellation and a three-zone independent full auto air conditioning system are also standard features.

The powertrain is a hybrid E-Tech system with a parallel dual-motor configuration. It combines a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors to deliver a maximum system output of 250 horsepower. The official combined fuel efficiency is 15.1 km/L. Equipped with a 1.64kWh lithium-ion battery, it increases the proportion of electric mode driving in urban environments. Frequency-sensitive dampers are applied to adjust ride comfort and vehicle dynamics according to driving conditions.

For safety, up to 34 driving assistance and safety features are included. Emergency steering assist and radar-based rear occupant alert are standard on all trims, and a Level 2 driving assistance system is also provided. The body structure is reinforced with ultra-high-strength hot press-formed components to enhance structural rigidity.

The infotainment system features the openR panoramic screen, which connects three 12.3-inch displays. It also supports the AI-based voice assistant "A.Dot Auto," the AI vehicle manual service "Tips," as well as various streaming and gaming content. Over-the-air updates (FOTA) allow remote upgrades of key control units.

The sales price, based on individual consumption tax reduction and eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits, is 43,319,000 won for the Techno trim, 46,969,000 won for the Iconic trim, and 49,719,000 won for the Esprit Alpine trim. The Esprit Alpine 1955, a limited launch edition of 1,955 units, is priced at 52,189,000 won. The eco-friendly vehicle tax benefit will apply once government approval is completed.

The Filante will be produced at the Busan plant and deliveries will begin sequentially from March. Contracts can be made at Renault Korea showrooms nationwide starting January 13.
