While the semiconductor sector, which had previously driven the stock market, underwent a correction, capital instead flowed into other sectors such as automobiles, shipbuilding, and defense.

Hyundai Motor ended trading at 406,000 won, up 10.63% from the previous session, marking a third consecutive day of gains.

This was the first time in history that the closing price exceeded 400,000 won. At one point, it climbed to 413,500 won, setting a new all-time intraday high as well.

As of the close, Hyundai Motor's market capitalization stood at 83.1317 trillion won, surpassing the 80 trillion won mark for the first time ever.

Additionally, Hyundai Mobis (up 14.47%) and Hyundai Autoever (up 8.91%) both hit new 52-week highs, while Kia (up 5.18%) also rose.

This is analyzed to be the result of improved investor sentiment, following Hyundai Motor Group's large-scale unveiling of artificial intelligence (AI) robotics products and technologies at CES 2026, the world's largest home appliance and information technology (IT) exhibition.
