This event was operated with funding provided by a public contest project organized by the Ministry of Justice, and a total of 39 participants, including domestic and international students as well as participants in the social integration program, took part.
The program was a participatory volunteer activity that combined campus and nearby area environmental clean-up activities (plogging) with environmental action education. It was held on December 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the campus area.
It is also noted that about 90% of the participants experienced plogging for the first time, which was evaluated as a meaningful achievement in terms of raising awareness about environmental clean-up and providing hands-on experience in eco-friendly practices.
In addition, with the participation of a diverse group of people-including domestic and international undergraduate students, students enrolled in the Korea Immigration and Integration Program (KIIP), and volunteer groups-the event promoted group diversity and served as an opportunity to spread a community-based culture of volunteering.
Jang Hyunmook, Director of the Sejong Korean Language and Culture Education Center, stated, "Through this Clean Step Campaign, we were able to create a space for social integration where domestic and international participants could come together while also practicing environmental protection," adding, "We plan to continue operating programs in collaboration with the local community in the future."
