Sh Suhyup Bank announced on January 13 that it attended 'CES 2026,' the world's largest IT exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 6 to 9 (local time), and explored ways to expand the application of artificial intelligence (AI) beyond finance to the maritime and fisheries sectors.
The purpose of attending CES this year was to review the results of the bank's ongoing digital transformation initiatives and, as a specialized bank for the maritime and fisheries industries, to examine whether AI technology can create tangible value not only in the financial sector but also in the field of fisheries and marine industries.
Focusing on AI computing and platform technology, Sh Suhyup Bank observed how AI agents that assist and perform tasks are actually being utilized in financial settings, while also exploring ways to enhance productivity in financial work and the potential for applying these technologies to the maritime and fisheries industries.
Through this, the bank confirmed a direction in which AI is not merely a technology to be adopted, but a practical tool for implementation in real-world settings.
In particular, at the Samsung SDS exhibition booth, the bank identified use cases where AI agents assist staff in repetitive and standardized financial tasks such as credit card membership screening, thereby improving work efficiency. The bank also reviewed the possibility of incorporating these applications into its own financial processes.
Additionally, through an on-site meeting with Lee Junhee, CEO of Samsung SDS, the bank discussed potential collaboration for utilizing maritime and fisheries-related data and advancing digital services, focusing on 'BadaGO,' a specialized service for the maritime and fisheries sector currently being planned by Sh Suhyup Bank.
President Shin Hakgi stated, "Sh Suhyup Bank's AI strategy is focused not on the adoption of technology itself, but on generating tangible value and results in the fields of finance and maritime and fisheries. We will continue to expand the scope of AI applications beyond finance to the maritime and fisheries sectors, building a unique and differentiated digital competitiveness for Sh Suhyup Bank."
