Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation announced on January 13 that it held a kickoff briefing session for the '2025-2026 Yongin City Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Expansion Project Management Service' at the Yongin City Advanced Transportation Center.

This project aims to enhance the efficiency of traffic operations and improve citizen safety in Yongin City through the expansion and establishment of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). The corporation will be responsible for systematic management and supervision of the entire project, as well as providing technical support.

The corporation has accumulated expertise by successfully carrying out various transportation projects, including the Gyeonggi-do Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Advancement Project. The commencement of this service is seen as a testament to its specialized capabilities in the transportation sector and its reliability as a public institution.

Through this project, the corporation plans to expand smart intersections, establish an intelligent signal operation system, and enhance the functionality of smart intersections to strengthen the ability to respond to unexpected situations. By supporting the customized establishment of ITS that reflects Yongin City's unique traffic characteristics and urban conditions, the corporation aims to improve traffic flow and create a safer environment for mobility.

As a result, the project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion during commuting hours and improve the efficiency of accident response, delivering tangible improvements in transportation services that citizens can experience firsthand.
