Chaerina Makes Headlines with 800% Return on Stock Investments

Chaerina, a former member of the group Roo'ra, has drawn attention by revealing that she achieved an 800% return on her investment in NVIDIA.

On January 12, in a video released on the official YouTube channel of the SBS variety show "Gol Ddaerineun Geunyeodeul," Chaerina shared her New Year's wish, saying, "I hope the stocks I own will rise significantly."

When the production team commented, "They've already gone up a lot," Chaerina replied, "They have indeed risen a lot," and added, "I've held NVIDIA for seven years. The return is 800%," surprising everyone. The production team even added a playful caption, saying, "We cried out of envy while editing."

When Chaerina began investing in NVIDIA about seven years ago, around 2019, the stock price was approximately $33. NVIDIA's stock price rose by about 200% in 2023 and another 100% in 2024. Last year alone, it surged by 31%, making it the company with the highest global market capitalization as of now.

As the recent bull market continues, the investment returns of celebrities have also become a hot topic. One notable "investment expert," actress Jeon Wonju (86), reportedly purchased SK Hynix shares at around 20,000 KRW before it was acquired by SK Group in 2011 and achieved high returns through long-term investment. She previously revealed that she started investing with 5 million KRW and achieved a 600% return.

Jang Yewon, a broadcaster and former announcer, also recently revealed that her return on SK Hynix shares reached 323.53%, attracting attention. However, she explained, "I only bought one share as a mission during a broadcast on an economic channel with my younger sibling," and added, "If I had known that stock would perform so well, I wouldn't have bought just one share," expressing her regret.
