Osan City Unveils Symbol Designs for Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province has finalized and released the official symbol designs for the 2027-2028 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition.

The newly unveiled symbol designs by the city include the emblem, mascot, and slogan, among others.

The emblem visually embodies "flow and dynamism," using the initial consonants "ㅇ" and "ㅅ" from Osan City as its primary motif. The structure, which harmonizes curves and straight lines, represents the leap, energy, and forward movement of sports. The emblem will serve as a unified identity, tying together four events-the Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition, the Gyeonggi Province Sports Festival for All, the Gyeonggi Province Para Sports Competition, and the Gyeonggi Province Para Sports Festival for All-under a single design language.

The mascot is a reinterpretation of the city's representative character "Kkasani" with a sports concept. While maintaining a friendly image, dynamic movements and expressions have been added to emphasize the vibrancy and on-site atmosphere of the sports competition. It has been designed for versatile use, including adaptations for both non-disabled and disabled sports categories, as well as for facilities and event applications.

With the confirmation of these symbols, the city plans to gradually expand efforts to create an energetic atmosphere and promote the competition. The symbols will be sequentially applied to promotional videos, stadium facilities, signage, souvenirs, and official printed materials, aiming to instill the image of "Osan united through sports" in the minds of athletes and visitors from all 31 cities and counties in the province.

Lee Gwonjae, Mayor of Osan, stated, "These symbols embody both the values of the competition and the urban vision of Osan City," adding, "Based on a systematic design manual, we will enhance the quality of the event and make it a sports festival that all citizens can take pride in."
