The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on January 13 that the construction of 'Starfield Cheongna' in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu is proceeding smoothly, with completion targeted for the end of next year.
Starfield Cheongna is planned as a large-scale entertainment complex combining a major shopping mall and a domed stadium (multi-stadium), with a total floor area of 510,000 square meters and a structure spanning three basement levels and nine above-ground floors. The project is currently 34% complete.
The 21,000-seat domed stadium, which will serve not only as a professional baseball venue but also as a multi-purpose cultural facility, is expected to host performances by renowned domestic and international artists, international e-sports tournaments, exhibitions, and more.
On this day, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeongbok visited the construction site to inspect the progress and safety management of the project and to check the future schedule.
Mayor Yoo stated, "We expect this facility to become a space where citizens can enjoy both culture and leisure in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to review and manage the necessary administrative matters to ensure the project proceeds safely and according to plan."
