The designated sections have long raised concerns about potential safety accidents due to multiple utility poles and tangled overhead wires.

The cost of undergrounding will be shared equally between the city and Korea Electric Power Corporation. The city plans to use the space made available by removing utility poles to improve pedestrian walkways and enhance the urban landscape.

A city official stated, "We will work closely with Korea Electric Power Corporation to ensure the construction proceeds smoothly and achieve urban environment improvements that citizens can truly feel."
