SAMSUNG Securities, a leader in the domestic wealth management market, has become the first in the industry to reach 6,000 clients with financial assets of over 3 billion won.
According to SAMSUNG Securities on January 13, as of January 6, the number of clients with over 3 billion won in financial assets stood at 6,223, marking a 58.2% increase compared to the end of 2024.
During the same period, the asset size of high-net-worth individuals at SAMSUNG Securities also saw explosive growth. Excluding corporate clients, the assets of individual clients rose by nearly 70% compared to the end of 2024, reaching approximately 135 trillion won, demonstrating significant achievements in the wealth management sector.
The proportion of high-net-worth individuals among those in their 30s and 40s, often referred to as "emerging wealthy," also increased significantly. The number of clients in their 30s holding financial assets of over 3 billion won grew by about 77.0% compared to the end of 2024. For clients in their 40s, the figure increased by 79.8% over the same period. This represented the largest increase across all age groups.
Meanwhile, SAMSUNG Securities analyzed the investment trends of high-net-worth individuals and identified a higher proportion of domestic stock investments, as well as key interests in sectors such as semiconductors and robotics.
In fact, an analysis of the portfolios (excluding equity-type assets) of SAMSUNG Securities clients with over 3 billion won in financial assets revealed that domestic stocks accounted for 32% of total portfolios at the end of 2024, but as of January 6, this proportion had risen to 44%. This indicates a substantial increase in preference for domestic stock investments.
For 2025, the top net buying stocks among ultra-high-net-worth individuals (excluding ETFs) were Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electronics Preferred, and Hyundai Mobis, in that order.
This trend is interpreted as reflecting strong expectations for a robust recovery in the semiconductor industry and the growth potential of the robotics sector.
A SAMSUNG Securities representative stated, "Surpassing 6,000 clients with over 3 billion won in entrusted assets just about three months after exceeding 5,000 is the result of SAMSUNG Securities' unwavering commitment to client-centric values," adding, "We will continue to lead the industry by providing tailored investment solutions to clients in a rapidly changing market environment."
