This agreement was established to systematically respond to the changing educational environment by integrating and restructuring the existing cooperation model into the "Warm Learning City Pocheon" and "Gyeonggi Shared School" systems, based on the achievements of regional educational cooperation projects that Pocheon City has been promoting.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Pocheon, So Sung-sook, Superintendent of the Pocheon Office of Education, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members Kim Seongnam and Yoon Choongsik, as well as representatives from the participating organizations, who shared the new direction for regional educational cooperation.
Through this agreement, the two institutions will jointly promote programs that support student growth by sharing and connecting diverse educational resources within the region. They also agreed to strengthen the cooperative educational system among schools, the local community, and the administration.
Pocheon City plans to focus its administrative support on improving the quality of public education, centering on the realization of customized education tailored to each student's characteristics and career path, as well as strengthening self-directed learning capabilities that enable students to set their own learning direction.
A Pocheon City official stated, "This agreement not only inherits the achievements of our previous educational cooperation but also marks an important milestone for Pocheon education to take a further leap forward," adding, "We will continue to make Pocheon a 'city that is great for raising children' and a 'city trusted for its education' through a sustainable educational cooperation model."
With this agreement as a starting point, Pocheon City will fully implement the "Warm Learning City Pocheon-Gyeonggi Shared School" system and accelerate the creation of a future-oriented educational ecosystem where the entire local community becomes both the subject and the site of education, moving beyond simple inter-institutional cooperation.
