The full session of the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee, which was scheduled to be held on January 12 to adopt the confirmation hearing plan for Lee Hyehoon, nominee for Minister of Planning and Budget, was canceled.

The ruling and opposition party secretaries of the committee had planned to hold the full session at 2 p.m. that day to adopt the confirmation hearing plan for the hearing scheduled on January 19. However, they failed to narrow their differences, resulting in the meeting not taking place. It is reported that the conflict was due to disagreements over the selection of witnesses and reference persons.

The full session to adopt the plan has been postponed to 10 a.m. on January 13. However, since the parties have yet to reach an agreement on the issue, it remains uncertain whether the upcoming schedule will proceed as planned. With the postponement of the full session, there is a possibility that the confirmation hearing could also be delayed by one day to January 20.
