Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced on January 12 that the Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival has been recognized as a leading national festival, winning the Korea Festival Content Awards for three consecutive years.

The Korea Festival Content Awards is a prestigious ceremony that selects outstanding festivals from among more than 2,500 nationwide. A panel of festival experts, including professors, directors, and journalists, conducts a fair and rigorous evaluation to determine the winners.

This year, a total of 38 festivals were ultimately selected across eight categories.

Hwasun County showcased unique cultural tourism content by linking the dolmen heritage site, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with autumn flowers such as chrysanthemums, cosmos, sunflowers, and angelonia, earning recognition for its distinctiveness.

In particular, the festival received high marks for its operational achievements and content competitiveness for the 2025 edition, winning in the festival cultural heritage and history category.

With this third consecutive win, the Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival is expected to further strengthen its status as a leading national festival and make a significant contribution to revitalizing local tourism and boosting the regional economy.

Jo Hyeong-chae, Director of the Tourism and Sports Department, stated, "Winning for three consecutive years is a testament to the external recognition of Hwasun's unique historical and cultural content," adding, "We will continue to create a festival that brings joy to visitors with differentiated programs and a wide variety of experiential content."

Meanwhile, the 14th Korea Festival Content Awards ceremony will be held on February 24 at the Peace and Park Convention Center in the War Memorial of Korea, Yongsan, Seoul.
