A story has emerged about a self-employed business owner who completed a delivery of takoyaki, only to have the order canceled the following day.

On January 10, a post titled "A delivery platform that accepts cancellations even a day after delivery" was submitted to an online community. The poster, who runs a takoyaki shop in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, explained that since it was a Saturday, they turned on the POS system at 2 p.m., one hour earlier than usual, and received a notification that an order had been canceled.

The order in question had been delivered at 3:47 p.m. the previous day. The poster could not understand how an order placed the day before could be canceled a day later, so they contacted customer service. The response was that "the customer requested a cancellation due to a delivery delay, and the order was four minutes late."

The poster lamented, "Both the customer who asks for a refund because the order was four minutes late after a full day, and the customer service that accepts such a request, are at fault. No matter how much we respect customer-first policies, how can something this heartbreaking happen?"

Upon hearing the story, online commenters responded with remarks such as, "Does this really help anyone's livelihood? Customers like that should be put on a blacklist," and "There are many people who demand compensation just because the food is cold, even if it arrived on time."
