The workshop also featured heated discussions on the group's strategic direction to respond to the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and changes in industrial structures. Participants discussed ways to create new business opportunities based on HDC's portfolio in life, AI, and infrastructure·energy. They shared a variety of opinions on providing integrated solutions by organically connecting the group's business capabilities and technological strengths in construction, IT, distribution, and hotel·resort sectors.
They also explored ways to enhance group governance by strengthening the holding company system, promote information sharing among affiliates, and facilitate the exchange of physical and human resources. There was a consensus on the need to establish a management approach focused on safety and quality to enhance product competitiveness and customer trust over the long term.
Based on the discussions at this Future Strategy Workshop, HDC Group plans to improve the profitability of its existing businesses while expanding investment in new growth areas such as energy, AIoT, and infrastructure operations.
HDC Group’s strategy is to systematically connect the value chain from investment to operation at the group level to strengthen its profit model, and to focus on creating new value in existing business areas by leveraging AI.
