Lee Byung-hun Misses Out on Golden Globe Best Actor Award... Trophy Goes to Chalamet

"No Other Choice" Competes for Best Motion Picture and Best Non-English Language Film

Lee Byung-hun Misses Out on Golden Globe Best Actor Award... Trophy Goes to Chalamet Reuters Yonhap News

Actor Lee Byung-hun stood shoulder to shoulder with Hollywood stars but ultimately fell short of winning an award.

On January 11 (local time), at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, Lee Byung-hun was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for the film "No Other Choice," but did not take home the trophy. The award went to Timothee Chalamet for his performance in "Marty Supreme."

Although he did not win, Lee Byung-hun's status was evident simply by being included among the nominees. He competed alongside legendary Hollywood actors such as George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ethan Hawke. When Timothee Chalamet's name was announced, Lee Byung-hun showed the composure of a veteran, offering a bright smile and applause.

The race for "No Other Choice" is not over yet. The film is still awaiting results in two categories: Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Non-English Language Film. Attention is focused on whether director Park Chan-wook's unique aesthetics will move the hearts of the more than 300 Golden Globe judges and lead to a dramatic turnaround at the last moment.
