The Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters," directed by Korean-American director Maggie Kang, has won a Golden Globe trophy. This is a remarkable achievement, as it triumphed over Hollywood blockbusters such as "Avatar" and "Wicked."

On January 11 (local time), at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the theme song of "K-Pop Demon Hunters," titled "Golden," was announced as the winner of Best Original Song. It beat out competing songs such as "Dream As One" from "Avatar: The Way of Water," "No Place Like Home" from "Wicked: For Good," and "I Lied To You" from "Sinners."

Composer and singer Ejae, who held the trophy, candidly shared her story of failure, saying, "I devoted ten years of my childhood to the dream of becoming an idol, but I was rejected for not having a strong enough voice." She added, "To overcome the pain of frustration, I turned to music," and continued, "Now, this song, which carries my pain, has become a testament of hope that helps every boy and girl in the world love themselves as they are." Having risen from a failed trainee to a Golden Globe winner, she concluded her speech in Korean, shouting, "Mom, I love you," as she shed tears.

Ejae's story resonates with the film's central theme. "K-Pop Demon Hunters" tells the story of a K-pop girl group who grow as they battle their inner demons behind the glamorous stage. The power of music, which transforms personal wounds into universal hope, moved the hearts of more than 300 Hollywood judges.

The journey of "K-Pop Demon Hunters" is ongoing. The film has also been nominated for Best Animated Feature and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The global entertainment industry is watching closely to see if it will continue its winning streak in the remaining categories.
