Up to 12% Discount Benefit Expanded
Boseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that, starting from January 12 until June, the discount benefit for the Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate card will be temporarily increased from the existing 10% to up to 12%.
This special discount is part of a livelihood economic revitalization measure aimed at increasing tangible benefits for residents and supporting the sales recovery of local small businesses amid high inflation and high interest rates.
With the card-type Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate, customers can enjoy a total benefit of 12%, consisting of a 10% upfront discount at the time of purchase and an additional 2% cashback on the payment amount.
The accumulated cashback can be activated through the 'Cashback ON/OFF' function within the 'Chak Local Gift Certificate' application. If users set it to 'ON,' the accumulated cashback will be used first for subsequent payments.
The paper-type Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate will continue to offer a 10% discount benefit as before. The monthly purchase limit, combining both card-type and paper-type certificates, remains at 700,000 won. The additional card-type benefit may end early if the allocated budget is exhausted.
To prevent fraudulent distribution due to the increased discount rate, the county will strengthen monitoring of purchase and exchange histories through the integrated gift certificate management system. In addition, on-site inspections will be conducted at affiliated stores suspected of irregular transactions, as part of efforts to establish a sound distribution order.
The Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate card can be issued at local branches of Nonghyup, Livestock Cooperatives, Saemaul Geumgo, Credit Unions, and Gwangju Bank. It can also be issued non-face-to-face by downloading the 'Chak Local Gift Certificate' app on a mobile phone and registering as a member. The county plans to actively encourage the use of the card-type gift certificate so that more residents can experience tangible benefits.
A county official stated, "The Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate is a robust livelihood economic policy that provides direct benefits to residents while supporting the sales of small businesses. We hope that this expanded implementation will serve as an opportunity to inject new vitality into the local economy, and we will continue to pursue policies that residents and merchants can truly feel."
