Yeosu City Named Top Institution for Six Consecutive Years in Local Non-Tax Revenue Evaluation

Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province received the Grand Prize in the "2025 Local Tax and Non-Tax Revenue Management Performance Analysis and Diagnosis Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, achieving the highest (excellent) rating for six consecutive years and demonstrating the nation's top capabilities in non-tax revenue management.


This evaluation is conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which comprehensively analyzes and diagnoses the management performance of 243 metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide to select outstanding municipalities, with the goal of increasing the collection rate of local non-tax revenue and expanding local independent financial resources.

Yeosu City was designated as the top institution for its outstanding achievements, including the nation's first "license plate seizure-ghost vehicle linkage" system, customized management using big data, communication focused on taxpayer convenience, holding meetings to report on strategies for collecting overdue non-tax revenue, and actively pursuing field-oriented administration.


In particular, Yeosu City received high marks for establishing an integrated management system through interdepartmental collaboration and improving administrative services to enhance citizens' payment convenience, which led to tangible financial gains.


A city official stated, "This award is proof that fair tax administration is being carried out based on trust with our citizens, going beyond simple financial performance," adding, "It is a valuable result achieved through the diligent payments made by our citizens despite difficult financial conditions and the dedicated efforts of public officials on the front lines."


Yeosu City plans to use this award as an opportunity to further enhance the stability and efficiency of non-tax revenue operations, and will continue to strengthen its financial capabilities to promote regional development and improve citizen welfare based on sound local finances.
