Yangyang County Resumes Regular Shuttle Bus Service Between Yangyang International Airport and Yangyang Intercity Bus Terminal

Free Shuttle Service Starts January 12
Boost Expected for Yangyang-Jeju Route

Yangyang County in Gangwon Province announced that, starting January 12, it will operate a regular shuttle bus service connecting Yangyang International Airport and the Yangyang Intercity Bus Terminal to provide convenient transportation for passengers using the airport.

This shuttle bus operation is expected to contribute to an increase in passengers using Yangyang International Airport and to the revitalization of the airport, as the resumption of the Yangyang-Jeju route has significantly improved travel convenience for Yangyang residents and those in neighboring areas traveling to Jeju.

Previously, the county had operated shuttle buses to accommodate passengers of domestic scheduled flights and charter flights. However, the service was inevitably suspended when domestic scheduled flights were discontinued. After Parata Air resumed the Yangyang-Jeju route on September 30 last year, the shuttle bus service is now restarting for the first time in about two years.

To this end, the county has leased one 15-seater small-to-medium-sized bus and stationed it at the airport. The shuttle will operate round trips seven days a week, free of charge, in accordance with the scheduled flight times.

The route is Yangyang Intercity Bus Terminal↔Home Mart↔Yangyang International Airport, operating 12 times a day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Going forward, the county plans to operate the shuttle bus flexibly in line with the Yangyang-Jeju flight schedule and to increase the number of trips if additional routes, such as international flights, are confirmed.

A county official stated, "With the resumption of the Yangyang-Jeju route, we will do our best to increase passenger convenience by flexibly operating the shuttle bus according to flight schedules and passenger trends, so that more people can use Yangyang International Airport conveniently."
