51 Trades in 7 Divisions
Top Three in Each Trade to Qualify as Daejeon City Representatives
Applications Open Until January 23
Daejeon City is recruiting participants for the "2026 Daejeon Metropolitan City Skills Competition" until January 23.
Anyone who has resided in Daejeon City for at least six months as of January 23, 2026, or who belongs to an organization based in Daejeon City, is eligible to participate regardless of age. However, winners of the International Skills Olympics and top prize winners from previous National Skills Competitions are excluded.
Applications can be submitted through the Meisternet website, and additional documents such as recommendation letters should be uploaded online when submitting the application form.
This competition is hosted by Daejeon City and organized by the Daejeon Skills Competition Committee (Daejeon Regional Headquarters of the Korea Human Resources Development Service), and will be held for five days from April 6 to April 10.
The competition will feature 51 trades across seven divisions. Certificates, medals, and prize money will be awarded to the top three winners in each trade, and they will also be eligible to represent Daejeon City at the 61st National Skills Competition to be held in Incheon Metropolitan City in August.
In addition, winners will receive exemptions from the national technical qualification craftsman exam for their respective trades and be granted eligibility to take the written exam for the industrial engineer qualification.
Notably, the 2026 competition is opening the door to nurturing skilled talent to respond to the changing industrial environment by introducing new pilot trades such as "mobile app development."
