Kyobo Life Insurance Instills 'Financial Consumer Protection DNA' in All Employees and Executives

Kyobo Life Insurance announced on January 12 that it held the "Code of Conduct for Financial Consumer Protection Establishment and Proclamation Ceremony" at the Gyeseongwon Training Center in Cheonan, Chungnam, on January 9, officially formalizing guidelines for employees and executives to practice consumer protection.

This proclamation ceremony was organized to establish consumer protection as a core part of the company culture, strengthen customer trust, and further enhance the ability of employees and executives to implement consumer protection. The key point was the establishment of a "Code of Conduct," which serves as a concrete set of guidelines that all employees and executives can immediately put into practice in the field, rather than remaining a mere slogan.

The newly established Code of Conduct contains four key commitments aimed at ensuring customers' "complete protection." These include: ▲ clearly explaining essential products to customers to ensure proper enrollment; ▲ providing attentive ongoing services throughout every stage of the customer's life to ensure continued coverage; ▲ promptly paying insurance claims at the moments when customers need them most; and ▲ proactively practicing consumer protection to ensure customers' "complete protection."

The event was attended by more than 800 people, including President and CEO Cho Daegyu, who oversees the insurance business division, as well as executives, team leaders from headquarters, and branch managers. The ceremony began with a video on the importance of consumer protection, followed by the reading and pledge of the Code of Conduct by Park Jeongsik, Head of Consumer Protection, and the heads of each channel.

Next, calligraphy artist Kim Soyoung inspired participants’ commitment to consumer protection by inscribing the phrase "Practicing Consumer Protection for Complete Customer Protection" on a large canvas. Representing all employees and executives, President Cho concluded the event by stamping his seal on the calligraphy piece as a symbolic "pledge of action," reaffirming the company's promise to achieve consumer protection. Starting with this proclamation ceremony, Kyobo Life Insurance plans to have all employees and executives sign a pledge to practice consumer protection and will continue to promote a consumer-centric management culture through various initiatives.

President Cho stated, "The true value of insurance is realized when customers enroll in the products they truly need and receive the promised protection at the moments they need it most," adding, "With the establishment of this Code of Conduct, all employees and executives will make consumer protection a fundamental principle of their work, and we will do our utmost to ensure that a culture of complete protection takes root throughout the process from enrollment and maintenance to claims payment."
