On January 12, Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province launched the 'Suwon Artificial Intelligence (AI) Work Assistant' service for public officials, aiming to utilize generative AI across all administrative operations.
The Suwon AI Work Assistant is an AI-based work support service that allows users to access various generative AI models-such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude-on a single platform.
It supports document-based administrative work, including drafting documents, preparing draft responses to civil complaints, and translation. It also assists in creating promotional content such as press releases and blog posts.

To coincide with the launch, Suwon City distributed security guidelines and user manuals to public officials. The city also plans to provide training for all employees on how to use the AI work assistant.
Lee Jaejun, Mayor of Suwon City, stated, "By introducing the AI work assistant service, we will improve the manual and repetitive nature of administrative work and create a smart administrative environment utilizing AI. We aim to expand the use of AI throughout all administrative operations, enabling public officials to focus on creative and value-added tasks."
In October last year, Suwon City became the first basic local government to establish a bureau-level AI-dedicated organization. In line with the government's national agenda to become one of the world's top three AI powerhouses, the city is accelerating the adoption of AI across all administrative functions.
