Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting implementing agencies for regional and industry-customized job support projects to create jobs and improve employment conditions in the province's automotive industry.

On January 12, Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that it will invest a total of 3.4 billion won this year to select agencies responsible for five projects targeting unemployed individuals in the province, employees working in related fields such as auto parts manufacturing, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies in the automotive sector. The five projects include ▲job seeker training ▲job placement support ▲support for new hires ▲support for incumbent workers ▲corporate support and consulting.

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and groups based in the province, outstanding employment service providers, and certified training institutions. Any agency or individual who has been penalized for improper receipt of funds in regional or industry-customized job support projects within the past five years is ineligible to participate in this project.

The application period will be open until January 21.

Through this project, Gyeonggi Provincial Government expects to alleviate the supply-demand imbalance of manpower in the province's automotive industry, reduce early turnover among new employees, and enhance companies' capabilities to retain their workforce.

Bae Jingi, Director of Job and Economic Policy at Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "This project aims to timely supply the talent needed by companies amid changes in the province's core automotive industry and to help existing employees continue to grow in the field. We hope that agencies with expertise and a strong sense of responsibility will actively participate and enhance the on-site implementation of Gyeonggi Province's employment policies."
