In a post on Truth Social that day, President Trump stated, "Venezuela is releasing a large number of political prisoners as a signal that it 'seeks peace,'" adding, "This is a very important and wise gesture."

President Trump also said, "The United States and Venezuela are cooperating well, particularly in rebuilding oil and gas infrastructure to make it bigger, better, and more modern."

President Trump explained, "Thanks to this cooperation, I canceled the previously anticipated second strike," and added, "It now appears to be unnecessary." However, he noted, "For safety and security purposes, all (U.S. military) vessels will remain in their current positions."

President Trump stated, "At least 100 billion dollars will be invested by 'Big Oil' (major oil companies), and I will be meeting with all of them at the White House today."
