Gyeryong Construction Completes Dauntree Dam in Cambodia... Expected to Reduce Flood Damage

Rockfill Dam to Supply 26 Million Tons of Water Annually
Key Solution to Water Supply Challenges

Gyeryong Construction announced on January 9 that the Dauntree Dam project in Cambodia, commissioned by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia, has been successfully completed seven years after construction began.

The Dauntree Dam is a rockfill dam (a dam primarily made of gravel and sand) with a height of 47 meters and a length of 654 meters. Its effective storage capacity is approximately 132.5 million tons, and it can supply about 264 million tons of water annually.

Gyeryong Construction Completes Dauntree Dam in Cambodia... Expected to Reduce Flood Damage

This region, known for its fertile rice paddies and mild climate, is often referred to as the "rice bowl of Cambodia" due to its high agricultural productivity. However, in recent years, abnormal climate conditions have led to frequent floods and droughts, posing significant challenges to water resource management plans.

The completion of the Dauntree Dam is expected to provide effective flood control, thereby significantly reducing damage in downstream areas. Stable water supply will enhance agricultural productivity in downstream farmlands and is also expected to make a substantial contribution to resolving the recurring water shortages in northwestern Cambodia.

A representative from Gyeryong Construction stated, "This project is highly significant as it has promoted regional economic revitalization by expanding water resource infrastructure and establishing a stable water management system. Based on our accumulated experience, technological capabilities, and management expertise in overseas projects, we will continue to expand Gyeryong Construction's business scope in the global market."
