Professor Kim Sinhye of Keimyung University Honored with Minister of Education Commendation for Innovation in Teacher Training

Focused on Strengthening Teacher Capabilities for Eight Years as Dean of Education
Achievements in Curriculum Innovation Based on AI Digital Textbooks

Professor Kim Sinhye of the Department of English Education at Keimyung University (President Shin Ilhee) received a commendation from the Minister of Education in recognition of her contributions to improving the curriculum of teacher training institutions and strengthening the capabilities of prospective teachers.


Since 2018, Professor Kim has held key positions, including Dean of the College of Education and Dean of the Graduate School of Education, for eight years. During this time, she has led innovations in the educational system to enhance both the teaching capabilities and character development of prospective teachers.

In particular, she is credited with continuously pursuing curriculum improvements and strengthening connections with schools to promote the qualitative growth of teacher training institutions, thereby presenting new directions for secondary teacher education.


Notably, since July 2024, Professor Kim has served as the head of the "KACT Prospective Teacher Training Project Group Leading Classroom Innovation," a university support project aimed at improving teacher training institutions. In this role, she has been at the forefront of digital education innovation.


She has promoted the improvement of curricula and courses based on the Artificial Intelligence Digital Textbook (AIDT) and operated both curricular and extracurricular programs linked to field experience, helping prospective teachers develop digital literacy and creative convergence skills.


Additionally, she participated in the development of the 2022 revised English curriculum and achievement standards, working to ensure that changes in the national curriculum are organically reflected in both school settings and teacher training processes.


Professor Kim Sinhye graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in English Education, earned her master's degree from Seoul National University, and received her Ph.D. in English Education from Texas State University in the United States.


She has demonstrated outstanding expertise in academia and teacher training, including serving as president of the Pan-Korea English Education Association and the Council of National Graduate School Deans.


Professor Kim stated, "I have focused on improving the practicum system and curriculum so that prospective teachers can immediately demonstrate their abilities in rapidly changing school environments. With this commendation as motivation, I will further develop a future-oriented teacher training model optimized for the digital transformation era."
