On January 9, Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital signed a business agreement in the clinical lecture room on the second floor of the main building to provide prompt and optimal medical care to public officials on the front lines of security and safety in the northern Gyeonggi region. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Taekyu, Director of Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital, Kim Dongkwon, Chief of the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency, Kang Daehun, Head of the Gyeonggi Northern Fire & Disaster Headquarters, Park Jinyeol, Warden of Uijeongbu Correctional Institution, and other representatives from related organizations.
The core of this agreement is to operate a hotline around the clock and implement a fast-track procedure so that uniformed public officials (police, fire, and corrections officers) working in the northern Gyeonggi region can receive immediate care from specialized medical staff as soon as they arrive at the hospital in an emergency situation.
Going forward, the participating organizations will regularly review essential medical cooperation matters through a working-level consultative body and maintain a seamless collaboration system in the event of an emergency. Through these efforts, a medical environment will be established where public officials working in dangerous situations-such as responding to drug-related or violent crimes and firefighting-can focus on their duties with peace of mind.
Director Lee Taekyu stated, "As the final treatment center for emergency and trauma patients in the northern Gyeonggi region, we aim to respond to the sacrifices of these uniformed heroes who are dedicated to regional safety with 'special medical compensation.' We will do our utmost to provide high-quality medical services under any circumstances to protect their precious lives."
With this agreement, Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital plans to further strengthen the essential medical safety net in the northern Gyeonggi region and continuously expand its social responsibility as a key public healthcare institution.
