Inspection of Projects in Daebandong and Seonchang Areas

Mokpo City Holds Second Regional Current Affairs Meeting Josuk Hoon, Acting Mayor of Mokpo, is presiding over a meeting to inspect current affairs in the Daebandong and Seonchang areas. Provided by Mokpo City

On January 8, Mokpo City in South Jeolla Province held the second regional meeting to review current affairs for the Daebandong and Seonchang areas.


According to the city, this meeting followed the first inspection meeting for the Samhakdo area and was organized to review the overall progress of major projects currently underway in the Daebandong and Seonchang areas.


During the meeting, reports were presented by each department on a total of 10 projects, focusing on the status of each project, key issues, and future plans.


The main items reviewed included the construction of the Local Cuisine Promotion Center, improvements to the nightscape design in Daebandong, expansion of the passenger pier at Mokpo Port, small-scale port regeneration at Mokpo Inner Harbor, revitalization of marine leisure tourism at Yudal Amusement Park, specialized landscape lighting for Mokpo Bridge, development of the Yudalsan Seomyeon Amusement Park, the Seosan-dong Borimadang Urban Regeneration New Deal, creation of a complex cultural space at the former Chosun Refractories Mokpo Factory, and the Seosan and Onggeum Redevelopment Promotion District projects.


During the meeting, Acting Mayor Josuk Hoon emphasized the importance of linking tourism and urban regeneration in the Daebandong and Seonchang areas, and called for interdepartmental cooperation to ensure project connectivity.


Meanwhile, the city is sequentially holding current affairs review meetings for each of its eight designated areas: Samhakdo, the original downtown and Bukhang area, the island area, Gatbawi and Peace Plaza area, port area, Daeyang Industrial Complex area, and Hadang area.


The city plans to reflect the results of these reviews in its major administrative projects to enhance the completeness of project implementation.
