Gapyeong County Launches Comprehensive Review of Key Projects in Final Year of 8th Administration
Pledges Smooth Implementation of 2026 Major Business Plans at Reporting Meeting
Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province has launched a comprehensive review of all major ongoing projects as it enters the final year of the 8th popularly elected administration.

From January 7 to 8, the county held the '2026 Major Business Plan Reporting Meeting' to share the achievements of 2025 projects, identify issues that arose during implementation, and discuss improvement measures. The meeting was organized as part of preparations to ensure that each department’s major pending issues and key projects for 2026 are carried out without setbacks.
The meeting was attended by Seo Taewon, the governor of Gapyeong County, Vice Governor Kim Miseong, directors, department heads, and team leaders. They listened to departmental reports, delivered instructions, and held Q&A sessions. Through this meeting, the county aimed to closely examine the progress of each project and focus on enhancing execution during the remaining term.
The main projects planned for 2026 include: successfully hosting the Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for All, establishing the Peace Economy Special Zone, constructing the Senior Welfare Center, opening a children's play experience facility in the Cheongpyeong area, developing the Sang-myeon General Industrial Complex, creating the US-UK Commonwealth Tourism Security Park, establishing the Jaraseom Garden Master Plan, and operating the Gapyeong Talent Development Foundation.
In particular, since 2026 marks the final year of the 8th popularly elected administration, the county plans to strengthen management to ensure that all pledged projects and core policies are completed as planned. The focus will be on thorough review and supplementation to enhance the quality of outcomes, going beyond mere project implementation.
A Gapyeong County official stated, "As this is the final year of the 8th popularly elected administration, we will manage all work even more meticulously and ensure that key projects proceed smoothly. We are committed to responsible execution so that residents can truly feel the results of our county administration."
Meanwhile, based on the outcomes of this major business plan reporting meeting, Gapyeong County plans to supplement the content and conduct a work report to the county council within January.
