Imsil County in Jeonbuk has become the first among all cities and counties in the province to provide a livelihood stabilization grant to all residents, taking swift action to address urgent local issues affecting people's daily lives.

On January 9, Imsil County announced that, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, it will distribute a livelihood stabilization grant of 200,000 won per person to all residents starting from January 12, the first such initiative in the province. This measure aims to stabilize residents' livelihoods and revitalize the local economy.

Applications for the grant will be accepted from January 12 to February 6, with a total budget of 5.1 billion won fully funded by the county. The grant is available to approximately 25,400 people, including all residents registered in Imsil County as of November 30 of last year, as well as marriage immigrants and permanent residents.

In particular, the county has minimized administrative procedures by allowing applicants to immediately receive an anonymous prepaid card at the application site, ensuring practical household support before the holiday. This measure reflects County Governor Sim Min's strong determination to inject funds into the local economy more quickly than any other region in the province and to serve as a catalyst for economic recovery.

Applications can be submitted in person at the administrative offices of each town or township corresponding to the applicant's address. If the head of household brings identification, they may apply on behalf of all household members at once. For elderly or disabled residents who have difficulty visiting the local office, a "visiting application service" will be provided, with public officials visiting homes to assist with the application and card distribution.

The grant can be used at most stores and retail marts within Imsil County until June 30 of this year, and any unused balance will be automatically forfeited after this period. The county expects that this proactive distribution will lead to a tangible increase in sales for small business owners, including neighborhood shops and traditional markets.

Sim Min, Governor of Imsil County, stated, "When it comes to people's livelihoods, speed is the most important factor. As we are the first in Jeonbuk to begin distribution, we will ensure the process is seamless so that residents can feel real, practical support in their daily lives."
