This meeting was organized to enhance the effectiveness of the resident participation budget system, which incorporates citizens' opinions into municipal administration, and to strengthen the foundation for public-private cooperation in the budget planning process. In particular, ahead of the formation of the 8th Resident Participation Budget Committee this year, the meeting also served to coordinate the committee's operational direction in advance.

The meeting was attended by a total of 10 people, including the chairperson and vice chairperson of the Resident Participation Budget Committee, as well as the chairpersons and vice chairpersons of the four subcommittees. They exchanged a wide range of opinions, focusing on the schedule and operational plans for the 2026 resident proposal project contest and the composition of the subcommittees.

Based on the outcomes of this chairperson meeting, the city plans to sequentially proceed with the appointment of the 8th Resident Participation Budget Committee and the call for resident project proposals. After the committee is launched, the city will promote the discovery of projects that residents can truly feel by strengthening committee members' capabilities and providing practical support throughout the entire process, from project identification and review to selection.

Chairman Lee Hyundong stated, "The resident participation budget system is a meaningful channel through which even small citizen opinions can become feasible policies. This year as well, we will identify and propose everyday issues from the citizens' perspective and ensure open communication so that these issues can be thoroughly discussed during the budget planning process."

A city official commented, "The resident participation budget system is a core institution for citizen involvement in municipal administration. We will actively support the process so that opinions from the field are reflected in the budget and lead to changes that citizens can truly experience."
