[Today’s New Product] Seoksoo Label-Free: “Eco-Friendly Transition Accelerated with QR Cap Renewal”

Enhanced Recycling Convenience and Strengthened Resource Circulation

On January 9, HiteJinro Beverage announced that it has relaunched its label-free bottled water product, "Seoksoo," with a new design.

This renewal of the label-free Seoksoo aligns with the Ministry of Environment’s mandatory policy for label-free bottled water. It is part of the company’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives aimed at reducing plastic use and promoting resource circulation. By removing labels, the amount of plastic used is reduced, and consumers can more easily and conveniently separate and recycle the bottles, thereby improving recycling efficiency. In accordance with labeling standards for bottled water, product information is provided on the QR cap and the bottle body, ensuring both effective information delivery and user convenience.

HiteJinro Beverage also proactively introduced label-free products in 2021, accumulating expertise in eco-friendly packaging. Building on this operational experience, the company plans to systematically expand the application of label-free packaging and further strengthen its transition to sustainable packaging and ESG management.

Since its launch in 1982, Seoksoo has been a leading domestic bottled water brand, trusted by consumers for over 40 years. It uses natural bedrock water sourced from 200 meters underground in the Sobaeksan Mountain Range in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province-one of the world’s three major mineral water regions-delivering pure, natural water taste. Strict water quality management and systematic production processes have ensured stable quality over an extended period.

A representative from HiteJinro Beverage stated, "Seoksoo was among the first to introduce label-free products, quickly advancing the transition to eco-friendly packaging," adding, "We will continue to actively respond to Ministry of Environment policies and expand product and packaging innovations that reduce environmental impact."
